Sponsor Managed Public Housing
Subsidized housing managed by sponsor organizations.

Private Non-Profit Program
Subsidized housing for low to moderate income households, owned and operated by private, non-profit organizations.

Rent Supplement Program (Regular)
Subsidized housing for low and moderate-income family, elderly, and special needs households in non-profit, co-operative and private rental accommodation.

Rural and Native Housing
Subsidized housing for low income families in rural Manitoba communities.

Urban Native Non-Profit Housing Program
Subsidized housing for aboriginal households in need, in housing developed by non-profit native corporations or co-operatives.


Rent Assistance

Manitoba Shelter Benefit (MSB)
A monthly benefit to help low income seniors, families, and persons with disabilities pay their rent.


School Tax Assistance for Tenants 55 Plus (STAT55+)
Rebate for tenants 55 and over to offset the school tax portion of rent.



Co-operative Housing Assistance

Complementary Assistance Program (CAP)
Grants for housing co-operatives to lower housing charges for income-tested occupants.


Co-operative Housing Program
Supports existing non-profit co-operatives developed to provide housing for members.

Index-Linked Mortgage (ILM) Co-operative Housing Program
Supports non-profit co-operatives developed to provide housing for members.


Home Repair/Renovation Assistance

Emergency Repair Program (ERP)
Assistance to homeowners or occupiers in rural areas who have to undertake emergency repairs.


Home Adaptations for Seniors' Independence (HASI) Program
Financial assistance for low-income seniors to carry out minor home adaptations.

Homeowner Emergency Loan Program (HELP)
Loans to homeowners for home repairs of a health, safety or emergency nature.

Repair/Conversion Program
Financial assistance for repairs beyond what is available through RRAP.

Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (RRAP)
Financial assistance to owners of housing that needs major repair.


Shelter Enhancement Program (SEP)
Financial assistance to build or improve shelters for women and children or youth who are victims of family violence.


Affordable Housing Programs

Repair/Conversion Program
Financial assistance for repairs beyond what is available through RRAP.


Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance Program
Helps low- to moderate-income renters afford a mortgage down payment on their first home.

New Homeownership Supply Program
Provides builders with a one-time contribution that would be used to reduce capital costs.

New Rental Supply Program
Providing funding to help develop a new rental stock.

Rent Supplement Program (AHI)
The Rent Supplement program helps low-income families, elderly and special needs households obtain affordable, adequate and suitable housing in the private rental sector and in non-profit affordable housing projects renovated or developed under the AHI.

Proposal Development Funding
An interest-free loan to help private non-profit/co-operative housing organizations prepare a detailed proposal to develop affordable housing for low-income households, persons with disabilities and seniors.
