    Georeferenced photographs
St. Lawrence Observatory (OSL)

The OSL collection includes photographs taken by the Observatory team and by various collaborators in a region of interest covering the entire St. Lawrence area. It features topics such as coastal communities, living resources, ships and vessels.

Submission criteria:
As with any of the collections presented on the OSL portal, photographs must be georeferenced, that is, they have to be associated with geographical coordinates.

Anyone interested in contributing to the OSL collection must be the author and must own the rights to all submitted photographs. Contributors must also provide good quality originals (electronic or paper format, black & white or colour) along with the following information:
  • Date
  • Latitude and Longitude (of a location or an area): degrees, minutes, seconds
  • Description: details about location and subject
  • Author (name, address, phone no. and/or email)

The St. Lawrence Observatory will judge of the relevance and the quality of submitted photographs and will ensure that all information is validated before being published on the Internet.
