CHANGES TO PERMANENT RESIDENCE FEE

The Government of Canada announced in its budget speech May 2, 2006 that the Right of Permanent Residence Fee is reduced from $975 to $490 effective immediately.  Provincial Nominees pay the Permanent Residence fee after they receive a written request from the visa office.  You may be eligible for a refund if you paid the Right of Permanent Residence Fee and you have not become a permanent resident of Canada as of 12:00am EDT on May 3, 2006.  For more information visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
