As a result of the work performed to construct the protective dikes in your community, a restoration program is available to residents with new dikes on their property to request funds to cover certain costs of real property that may have been damaged when the dikes were being constructed. The deadline for submission of applications has now been extended from September 30, 2006 to December 31, 2006.

Questions and Answers about Flood Fighting on Lake Winnipeg
The lake front communities thank volunteers who have assisted with the making of sandbags and other work. The need for volunteers from outside the communities is winding down although local residents and property owners may be called upon from time to time until the lake freezes.

These maps set out information based on completed surveys, for consideration by municipalities of vulnerable areas and diking options. Final decisions on the dikes to be constructed and scheduling of the work will be made jointly and coordinated with Municipal authorities.
