Pages of Peace : A Century of Service

Prairie Writing Contest

During Veterans' Week 2001 Veterans Affairs Canada invited high school students from the Prairie Region (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories) to submit an entry into our "Pages of Peace: A Century of Service" writing contest.

Entries must have focused on a correspondence that could have been written by a soldier, peacekeeper, family member or some other person during wartime or in modern peacekeeping operations. Students were able to choose to make their submission a diary entry, a letter, a postcard, or any other type of written communication.

Once again, VAC initiated this contest to a very warm reception. With the help of our sponsors, WestJet Airlines and Zellers, we were able to provide the grand-prize winner and finalists with wonderful prizes!
