Fall 2006 Cottage Lot Draw

Successful Applicants Fall 2006

All successful applicants will receive further information by mail by November 24, 2006 on their order of lot selection.  The lot selection meetings will be held on Sunday December 10, 2006 at Canad Inn, Polo Park, in Winnipeg, starting at 12 noon.  Remote teleconferencing sites will not be set up for this draw.   Lot selection meetings require that the applicant (or authorized representative) be present to select a lot.

If a representative is making the lot selection on behalf of the applicant, at the lot selection meeting the representative must present written authorization from the applicant authorizing the representative to select a lot on behalf of the applicant (please use the attached authorization form for delegation of authority).  The representative should also provide a photocopy of the applicant’s valid identification (that identifies their Date of Birth and Address).

Applicants are encouraged to make an on-site examination of their successful subdivision prior to attending the December 10th meeting.

A listing of successful applicants for the Fall 2006 Cottage Lot Draw can be found here.

Caution should be taken when visiting the subdivisions as Deer Hunting Season will be in effect until December 2, 2006 in Manitoba.  Wearing of bright colored clothing is recommended so that you will remain highly visible while walking in these areas.

The haunting and forlorn call of a loon echoing from the dark recesses of a mist shrouded bay, the breathtaking spectacle of a Manitoba sunset, and the unparalleled serenity that defines Manitoba lake country, may be yours to experience from your own cottage.  This is your opportunity to join Manitobans on their annual pilgrimage to our pristine lake country, to experience first hand the cottaging experience.

Cottaging is a valued tradition in Manitoba that contributes to the overall high quality of life for the citizens of the province. New cottage development can provide more people the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the beautiful landscapes that exist in provincial parks and other natural areas of Manitoba.

In addition to contributing to the enjoyment and respect for Manitoba’s natural areas, cottaging provides economic benefits to the province. Economic activity associated with cottaging includes capital development costs such as building construction and lot development, furnishings, recreational equipment and ongoing maintenance and travel expenditures.
