The North Bay District Office would like to invite the public to attend an open house, showcasing various art work submitted for competitions from students in the region. Refreshments will be served. The purpose of this event is to focus on the 2006 Veterans Week Theme "Share the Story". Guest speaker will be requested based on the 50th Anniversary of the first United Nations Peacekeeping Force. This Open House will consist of many displays and interactive booths for students and the public to attend. We will have on hand approximately 100 Veterans who will be available to educate the students in attendance

A commemorative candlelit evening ceremony organized by Veterans Affairs Canada and the City of Ottawa. The Minister of Veterans Affairs, the Mayor of the City of Ottawa and senior Department of National Defence officials will attend.
