Fee Schedule

Effective November 1, 2002 the following fees are charged:

Client Administration

* Capital Receipts 2.5%
** Capital Disbursements 2.5%
* Income Receipts 3.0%
Income Disbursements 3.0%
Annual Asset Management Fee 0.9%
Per Diem Appeal Fee $300.00
File Closing Fee - Deceased Clients $200.00

*  No fees are charged for receipts of income assistance and tax refunds.
** No final capital disbursement fees are charged on closing a client account.

Capital Receipts 2.5%

Income Receipts 3.0%
Income Disbursements 3.0%
Annual Asset Management Fee 0.9%
Heir Location and Proof Fee $75.00/hour
Minimum Estate Administration Fee $1,500.00
Administration Order Application $100.00

Infant Trusts

* Capital Disbursements 2.5%
Income Receipts 3.0%
Income Disbursements 3.0%
Annual Asset Management Fee 0.6%

* No final capital disbursement fees are charged if an infant trust is transferred to client administration, but a capital receipt fee is charged by client administration on the transferred funds.

Additional Fees

The following additional fees are charged where required:

Legal:

Where legal services are required, fees will be charged as appropriate.

Income Tax:

Client Administration and Infant Trusts:

$30.00 minimum plus $15.00 for each 15 minutes in excess of 30 minutes spent in completing the service.

Deceased Estates:

$100.00 minimum plus $20.00 for each 15 minutes in excess of 30 minutes spent in completing the service.

Inspection:
Inspection Services (basic) $60.00/hour
Inspection Services (assets hauled) $70.00/hour
Travel Time $40.00/hour

Passing of Accounts

The Public Trustee will seek Court approval of its fees by passing its accounts in The Court of Queen's Bench in the following circumstances:

  1. where an heir to an estate refuses to sign a Release to the Public Trustee; and
  2. where an heir to an estate is legally incapable of giving a Release and has no one authorized to give it on his or her behalf.

When accounts are passed, The Court reviews all Public Trustee fees.

GST

All fees are subject to 6% Goods and Services Tax.
