career in the fields of Math, Science and Technology, today's young women can receive
assistance from the Training for Tomorrow Educational Awards Program.
What
is Training for Tomorrow?
Training
for Tomorrow is a financial award program designed to encourage women
to consider careers in Math, Science and Technology.
The
program provides $1,000 awards (in two $500 installments) to 50
eligible women studying Math, Science and Technology at any of Manitoba's community colleges.
Who
is eligible to receive an Educational Award?
The
Training for Tomorrow Educational Awards Program is open to women who
are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants. Candidates must be
entering full-time training in an eligible diploma program of study at
Red River College, Assiniboine Community College, University College
of the North or École technique et professionelle (Collège
universitaire de Saint-Boniface).
How
are the awards disbursed?
Educational
awards are disbursed based upon students' academic achievement and
answers to questions on the application form, with consideration given
to regional representation.
Who
grants the Training for Tomorrow Educational Awards?
The
Minister responsible for the Status of Women grants the Training for Tomorrow Educational Awards, based on recommendations
made by an Advisory Review Committee.
How
can I apply?
Application
forms are available at Manitoba community college
financial awards offices, at the Winnipeg office of the Women's Directorate or from your local high school. Or, print

Include
the following items with your application.
- A copy of the official
transcript of marks that accompanied your application to your
college of choice.
- Proof of acceptance into
an eligible community college program of study.
