Transportation Systems Planning & Development
To reflect changing socio-economic, environmental and technological
trends and the need for increased fiscal responsibility and
accountability, the Department developed a "Transportation
Planning Manual" (TPM).
The TPM is a technical reference document that contains all current
Transportation Department highway planning policies and standards.
This approach facilitates consistent, "across-the-board"
development of sustainable transportation policies and projects for
the provincial highway network. The manual introduces the
transportation planning standards and policies (identified below) that
have been adopted by the Department. Explanations of the methodology
and reasoning behind their development are given in the Appendices to
the manual.
These documents are available from this page in a PDF format and can be viewed (or downloaded) in Adobe Acrobat format.
