Graham F. J. Lane, C. A.
Appointed March, 2004

Appointed as Chairman to succeed Gerry Forrest, this member is a chartered accountant with thirty-plus years of experience in a variety of fields. He has served as a senior executive of Crown corporations in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan, as well as education, finance, insurance and management consulting. He is currently a board member of two not-for-profit organizations, the University of Manitoba and St. Amant Centre.

Len Evans
Appointed January, 2003

Worked for several years in Statistics Canada and was Chief of the Public Utilities Section for a period of time. Later he became Prairie Regional Economist for CMHC. Subsequently he taught economics at Brandon University before being elected in 1969 as the MLA for Brandon East. He served in the legislature for 30 years including 15 as a Cabinet Minister in various portfolios. Presently he is a board member of the Manitoba Branch of the Canadian Paraplegic Association and is on the executive of the Former Manitoba MLA’s Association.

A Certified General Accountant working for the Manitoba Government Employees Union (MGEU).

Eric Jorgensen
Appointed June 2000

Presently employed as a Business Agent with General Teamsters Union Local No. 979. Treasurer of both the Association of Industrial Economic Development and the Industrial Career Development Institute. Both organizations are joint Labour/Management partnerships providing industry driven career training.

Kathi Avery Kinew, M.S.W., Ph.D.
Appointed June 2000

This member is a researcher, policy analyst and facilitator with thirty years of experience working with First Nations. Dr. Kinew enjoys teaching as a sessional instructor in Native Studies and Social Work at the University of Manitoba, and working with First Nations in several fields. She is the proud and happy mother of a son, Wabanakwut, attending university, and daughter, Shawon, attending high school.

Robert A. Mayer, Q.C.
Appointed June 2000

This member is a lawyer carrying on a private practise of law in Thompson, Manitoba. He is a Past President of the Northern Bar Association and the Thompson Rotary Club and a former board member of the Legal Aid Services Society of Manitoba and Communities Economic Development Fund and the Manitoba Telephone System (as it then was).


Susan Proven, P.H.Ec
Appointed June 2000

This member is owner/operator of a small business in rural Manitoba. She is also a member of the Manitoba Rural Adaptation Council. She is a former member of The Public Utilities Board, a former teacher and in the last 10 years has produced radio documentaries.

Alain Molgat, B.Comm, CMA
Appointed September, 2006

This member is a Partner in a public accounting firm, specializing in the Aboriginal and non-profit sectors. He currently volunteers as a board member of several community organizations and is also a member of the Certified Management Accountants of Manitoba’s Public Practice Review Committee. He is a former board member of Assiniboine Credit Union where he served five years as Chair of the Audit and Risk Management Committee.
