This will be
the last sheet for The Pas area. Red Deer Lake will be at the
bottom of the Assiniboine sheet from now on.
The Assiniboine crest is
still at Virden. The crest is moving slowly due to the extensive water storage
in the valley floodplain.
Flooding of agricultural
lands from Shellmouth to Grand Valley continues.
A recession forecast for
flows and levels at Shellmouth and Virden will be available tomorrow. Some
options for operation of Shellmouth Dam to minimize the duration of flooding
will be presented.
Red Deer Lake has declined
about 1.7 feet from its April 28 crest and should fall another foot or so by
next Monday.
Levels of the Carrot River
are now declining more rapidly and the rate of fall will accelerate during the
next few weeks based on favourable weather.
The weather outlook is
quite good, with some showers expected on Thursday but otherwise no
precipitation likely this week.
