The Red River Floodway
Red River Floodway Act Public Consultations

Manitoba Water Stewardship and Manitoba Intergovernmental Affairs are holding public consultations for residents potentially affected by The Red River Floodway Act's regulations. Since the 1997 flood, the issue of compensation for artificial flooding has been a major concern for residents of the Red River Valley. The issue was raised during the International Joint Commission Task Force's public hearings and, most recently, during the Manitoba Clean Environment Commission hearings on the floodway expansion project. The Red River Floodway Act was proclaimed in June, 2005.
