Veterans Affairs Canada: Proudly Serving Canada's Veteran Community
  Vol 3, No.1

Legion Awarded Contract

The Royal Canadian Legion has been awarded a contract to help Veterans Affairs Canada determine how satisfied clients are with the level of care and service they receive in community care facilities.

Under this contract, trained volunteers from the Legion will visit once a year with each of the approximately 4,000 veterans who live in about 1,500 community care facilities across the country.

During these visits, residents will be asked to rate their satisfaction with the care and services provided to them. The questions will help us to monitor 10 key standards of care that are important to veterans' well-being and quality of life.

Our Department will analyse the information that is collected and handle any follow-up action that may be required.
