Charles P.Allen High School - "Stained Glass Window"
Charles P.Allen High School in Bedford ended the 2005 Year of the Veteran with a fitting tribute to those who have served their country.
A stained glass memorial designed by Grade 12 student Hye Yeon Jang will remain at the school as a reminder to the school and the broader community of C.P. Allen of the respect and gratitude to those who fought to ensure freedom for all Canadians.
A call for designs and/or drawings went out to the student body in early September. Hye Yeon Jang’s drawing was chosen from a number of submissions for its detailed depiction of wartime images.
The school then commissioned the student’s work to local artist Katrina Flemming who created the stained glass window. The cost was covered by using fundraising dollars. The memorial was unveiled on November 10th, 2005. |
