Housing Information

Guides will be living in the town of Arras in two very spacious and comfortable houses located about a 10 minute walk from each other.

The first house accommodates 7 guides and is located in the centre of town, approximately 10 minutes from a small grocery store and 10 minutes from the train station on foot. It is a three-story house with 4 bedrooms so undoubtedly some students will have to share. There are two full bathrooms (shower, bath, toilet) and 2 half bathrooms. It has a large living area and an enclosed back court, complete with a barbeque. You are provided with a washer, dryer, TV, VCR, DVD player, computer and free internet access.

The second house accommodates 8 guides and is a three-story apartment. There are 5 bedrooms so, again, some will have to share a room. The living areas are spacious and comfortable. There is a full bathroom (toilet, shower, bath) on the second floor and a half bathroom located on the lower floor. This house also has a washer, dryer, TV, VCR, computer and free internet access. There is also a big patio with a table, chairs and a barbeque.

Rent for both houses is 200 Euros per person per month, all inclusive and will be taken directly out of your pay. A damage deposit of 200 Euros per person will also be taken out of your first month's pay and will be returned at the end of the session after an inspection of the house (if everything is in good condition).

These houses are subsidized partially by Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) who decided to rent the houses in order to make the logistics of finding accommodations much less complicated. This housing solution is merely offered to students and there is no obligation to live in either of these houses.
