As
Minister responsible for the Healthy Living portfolio, I look forward
to working with Manitobans to promote wellness in our communities.
It is becoming clearer each day that the way we live our lives has
a significant impact on our present and future health. That is why,
rather than focus solely on treating illness and injury, the Healthy
Living agenda supports educating Manitobans on the essential link
between lifestyle and health.
By choosing healthier options, Manitobans can improve their quality
of life and help prevent future disease and injury. By making informed
choices about the foods we eat, the physical activity we engage
in and other lifestyle practices, we can not only improve our overall
health, but also help reduce rising health care costs challenging
our economy. Healthy Living continues to develop and promote programs
and services that encourage active, healthy living.
This government believes all Manitobans have a role to play in
building healthy communities. This includes a daily commitment to
