Information Security Awareness Program

Who Should Attend:

Any government employee who uses a government computer asset should attend an Information Security Awareness session. All government employees are required to understand their legal and organizational responsibilities with regard to information security.

Overview of the Workshop:

The government has developed an Information Security awareness program in order to teach employees how to Protect information, Detect signs of trouble, and to React appropriately.

We will also talk about the Electronic Networks Usage Policy (ENUP) and why it’s important to read and understand what is in this policy.

Here is a sampling of what you will learn in this session:

• Sensitive Information - How to recognize and protect sensitive information that is stored or transmitted electronically.
• Passwords - How to select an effective password and protect your password from misuse.
• Computer Viruses - How to detect and prevent computer viruses.
• E-mail Security - When to open e-mail attachments, recognize hoaxes, prevent spam and protect yourself from e-mail scams.
