Introduction

Organization & Staff Development ("OSD") has developed this web site (www.gov.mb.ca/csc/osd) to provide information on training and development workshops offered by OSD to provincial civil servants and other interested persons. The following privacy policy governs the operation and management of this web site.

Collected on Mailing List Submission

If you choose to use the Mailing List Submission provided on this web site, we will also collect the following personal information about you when you voluntarily provide it:

This information is collected so that we may add you to our mailing list in order to notify you of new workshops.

Collected on the Registration Form

If you choose to submit the Registration Form provided on this web site, we will also collect the following personal information about you when you voluntarily provide it:

•  your name, job title, organization, branch, mailing address including postal code, email address and fax number.

This information is collected so that we can provide you with the training and development workshop(s) for which you are registering.

Authority for Collection of Personal Information

Our collection of personal information on this web site relates directly to and is necessary for the provision of training and development workshops to interested persons by OSD and is authorized under section 36(1)(b) of The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and our mandate under The Civil Service Act to inform the public and the Manitoba public service.

Disclosure

We will only disclose the personal information we collect on this web site:

•  to a person involved directly or indirectly in delivering workshops on behalf of OSD to the extent the personal information is required for this purpose; or

•  as authorized by you or by law, including The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act .

How your personal information is secured and protected

Our collection of personal information is done in a way that keeps the information secure. We are collecting your personal information on a secure server, Secure Socket Layer (SSL), a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet. The protocol allows client/server applications to communicate in a way that is designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering or message forgery.

Destruction of personal information

The personal information collected on this site will be retained in accordance with a records schedule approved under The Archives and Recordkeeping Act of Manitoba .
