INTRODUCTION
Focus groups are an excellent method for obtaining qualitative feedback on specific topics or issues. The group dynamics that occur in focus groups may help to draw out different information from that obtained in individual interviews and often yield a wider range of information, insight, and ideas. A group setting encourages greater spontaneity and candor, and greater anonymity and security than individuals might feel one on one.
Service Manitoba has participated in the facilitation of focus groups throughout government, and is slowly building a network of trained individuals, all government employees, to assist in this process.
