Canada Country Note
The Early Childhood Education and Care Policy: Canada Country
Note was prepared by an international review team of early
childhood education experts appointed by the Organisation for Economic
Cooperation and Development (OECD) as part of the second round of
the OECD's Thematic Review of Early Childhood Education and Care
Policy.
The Government of Canada along with the provinces of British Columbia,
Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Prince Edward Island participated in
the review. The report presents observations and recommendations
on a range of programs and services including kindergarten, pre-kindergarten,
child care and family services.
The report's findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge
in Canada concerning best practices for early childhood education
and care programs and services that support children's healthy development
and help working parents and those returning to school.
