Eastview Secondary School - "The Boys from Barrie "

Local Cenotaph
Local Cenotaph

This project contains profiles of each of the 60 men killed in the Second World War from Barrie, Ontario. Each student in the grade 10 History classes was assigned a name from the local cenotaph. Starting with the Canadian Virtual War Memorial (Veterans Affairs Canada) and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website, they began to build profiles of each soldier's short life. With considerable effort, the students also scanned through the local newspapers stored on microfilm at the local library.

Organized by Clint Lovell, Head of History, Eastview Secondary School
