Introduction

From Colony to Country: A Reader's Guide to Canadian Military History has been re-organized, with a new design. In addition to the military campaigns already listed on the site, From Colony to Country offers two new themes, the Rebellions of 1837 and 1838 and the Second World War, as well as material pertaining to Aboriginal Soldiers in the First World War.

How the Site Has Been Reorganized

Each military campaign has been divided into ten new subsections that contain texts, notes and bibliographic references. The ten new subsections are listed below:

  • General References
  • Government and the Military
  • Troops and Traditions
  • Personal Stories
  • Aboriginal Peoples
  • Multicultural Communities
  • Women
  • Art, Music and Literature
  • Commemorations
  • Web Research

For those interested in researching family histories, works pertaining to genealogy, where they exist, have been included in the Commemorations section for each of the military campaigns.
