Collège
universitaire de Saint-Boniface (CUSB) was established
in 1818, and is today not only the oldest but the only French-language
post-secondary educational institution in Western Canada. Located
in the community of St. Boniface in the heart of Winnipeg, it offers
university (arts, science and education) as well as vocational (childcare,
business administration, data processing and office management)
programs. CUSB's Division de l'éducation permenante has provided
important continuing education services in professional development
and general interest courses in computers, community development
and language. The Collège is affiliated with the University
of Manitoba and offers U of M degrees.
University of
Manitoba is Western Canada's oldest university and one of the
largest and most prestigious universities in Canada. It has 17 faculties
and four schools offering undergraduate and graduate programs in
arts and sciences and professional studies, including agriculture,
architecture, dentistry, engineering, management, medicine, medical
rehabilitation, nursing, pharmacy and social work. The University
of Manitoba also offers a wide array of courses in their Continuing
Education and Distance Education divisions.
The University
of Winnipeg is a medium-sized university which has been nationally
and internationally recognized for its quality education. It offers
undergraduate degree programs in the arts, sciences and education,
with more than 400 courses in 34 major areas. In addition, the university
offers pre-professional programs (from one to three years) which
prepare students for admission to professional schools ranging from
law to medicine. Its Continuing Education and Distributed/Distance
Learning Centers offer courses in Communications, Management, and
Language.
Assiniboine
Community College serves southwestern Manitoba with a wide range
of one-year certificate and two-year diploma programs in trades,
business, nursing, media, health and human services, and office
administration programs. In addition, the Province is proud to receive
all of its agriculture training through ACC.
Keewatin
Community College in northern Manitoba delivers
certificate and diploma programs in academic, scientific, trade,
technological, literacy training and vocational fields. The college
serves a diverse population spread over a vast geographical area.
Red
River College of Applied Arts, Science and Technology, located
in the City of Winnipeg, offers a full range of more than 90 preparatory,
certificate, diploma, joint university degree and advanced diploma
programs in applied arts, business health, family and applied sciences,
technology, trades and language training. RRC also boasts the recent
merge with the nationally acclaimed Stevenson
Aviation & Aerospace Training Centre.
Winnipeg Technical
College offers a wide variety of Regular Programs to both secondary
and post secondary students. These programs provide up-to-date technical
and career education in an environment that recognizes and fosters
the learning potential of individuals and their contribution to
the work environment. The College meets business and industry needs
by providing Customized Training in many areas as well as through
Continuing Education.
Yellowquill
College is Manitoba's original First Nation post-secondary institute
specializing in First Nation and Aboriginal education for adults.
