In June 2000, the Government of Manitoba established The Waste Reduction and Pollution Prevention (WRAPP) Fund to support waste reduction and pollution prevention practices.  The WRAPP Fund has an annual funding allocation of $550,000 from the Sustainable Development Innovations Fund to support projects focusing on waste reduction, pollution prevention and innovative integrated waste management practices.
