  • Runs from the University of Saskatchewan and links to the Canadian Archival Information Network, a rapidly growing inventory of archival resources, at present particularly strong in material held in western Canada.

  • Organized by military event and theme and provides direction to published and archival information as well as additional links to military-related sites on the Internet.

  • Online Resources for Canadian Heritage are part of the Virtual Museum's Library Web site. Included are many useful links for particular topics in Canadian military history.

  • Directs the user to the Museum's excellent library resources and to the war art collections.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission

  • The Register is an online directory to all Commonwealth fatal casualties in the South African War, both World Wars and Korea, including all Canadians.

  • The Register includes the many Canadian servicemen killed accidentally and buried in cemeteries in Canada.

  • Also included are those for whom there is no known grave who are commemorated only on memorials, such as the Vimy Memorial or the Ottawa Memorial (airmen lost in the North American area).

  • At present (2000), this is a very busy Web site. Logging on is often difficult. Accessed from within Canada, the site often works best late in the evening.

  • Also found here is an index to all service records of those who served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. It is eventually intended to include a copy of each individual's Attestation Paper online. A selection may be viewed online now.
  • This site leads to resAnet: www.collectionscanada.ca/amicus/index-e.html, the catalogue of Library and Archives Canada's collections, which can be searched free of charge.

  • AMICUS is a union list service which provides library locations for materials throughout Canada. Amicus is offered at no charge pending ministerial approval. It is accessed chiefly by other libraries.
