By the time he was twenty, Gould had appeared in London (Ontario), St. Catharines, Montréal, Vancouver, Calgary and Hamilton as well as Toronto.

Program for Vancouver Symphony Orchestra concert at the Orpheum Theatre, October 28-29, 1951. At this concert, held during Gould's first tour of western Canada, he played Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major, Op. 58, with William Steinberg conducting. The concert was broadcast on CBC
