Jogging Your Memory

Research tells us that regular physical exercise helps to improve both our body and our mind. This September, The Arthritis Society's Joints in Motion Program will be making history as they team up with the Royal Canadian Legion to participate in the In Flanders Fields Marathon. The marathon, which also is known as the Marathon of Peace, will take runners and walkers through the Belgium battlefields of the First World War. The timing is particularly appropriate, given that November 11 will mark the 85th anniversary of the end of the Great War. Traditionally, Joints in Motion participants run in honour of an "arthritis hero." For this event, participants also can choose to run in honour of a veteran. For more information on the marathon you can visit The Arthritis Society's Web site at www.arthritis.ca or call 1-800-321-1433.
