Vol.1, No.1
Issue #1, Autumn 2001

ABOUT SALUTE!

Salute! is a quarterly, bilingual newspaper produced by Veterans Affairs Canada to provide veterans and their families with information on departmental policies, programs and services that affect them. There also is a strong emphasis on health promotion and education information that promotes clients' well-being, independence and quality of life. By sharing this information through our Web site, we hope that others may benefit. benefit.

The newspaper was launched during Veterans' Week 2001 and responds to clients' requests to receive more information about departmental disability pension, health and income support programs that may be available to them.

Sharing information with veterans and their families is a cornerstone of VAC's client-centred approach to service. It ensures the Department has the right people and resources, in the right place, at the right time to meet the evolving, and unique, needs of our diverse client base.

Salute! is distributed free of charge to VAC clients and key stakeholder groups and accepts no paid advertising. Audio and large print copies of Salute! are available upon request to the Editor.
