Veterans Affairs Canada: Proudly Serving Canada's Veteran Community

Vol.1, No.1
Issue #1, Autumn 2001

ON-LINE INFORMATION FOR SENIORS

Veterans Affairs Canada is leading the development of a new Internet site that will streamline the process of finding information that appears in a variety of federal and provincial/territorial government web sites.

Seniors Canada On-line is designed for seniors, their families, caregivers and others who may have an interest in matters important to older people. Through this site, you can access reliable information on seniors' health and wellness, discover how to apply for government programs and services offered to seniors and veterans, and research seniors-related financial advice.

In addition to federal government information, the site now contains provincial information provided by Ontario and Prince Edward Island. Work is underway to include information from other provinces and territories and to offer a secure means of doing electronic transactions.

Did You Know?
  • 12% of Canadian seniors used the Internet in 2000 as their primary vehicle to access government information.
  • Nearly 131,000 unique users have visited Seniors Canada On-line since it was launched in January 2001.
