POC 10

At Veterans Affairs Canada, we've put in place a national prescription drug program that benefits more than 110,000 qualified clients. Clients who qualify for the program are given a VAC health card that has an "A" or a "B" under a heading called Program Number 10 (or POC 10). Clients can use this card at the drug store to get medicine that has been approved for them.

POC 10About 80% of all the productslisted under our drug program are readily available to qualified clients who have a prescription from their doctor or dentist. In some cases, however, a client may need to get special permission from the Department before they can use their VAC health card to get certain kinds of medicine.

You can learn more about our prescription drug program by visiting the Clients section of our Web site at www.vac-acc.gc.ca. Click on Veterans Services, Health Care Program, then Treatment Benefits.
