A Runaway Success

Joint Photo: A Runaway SuccessIn September 2003, Canada's Joints in Motion team participated in the Flanders Fields Marathon in Belgium. The run supported arthritis education, support and research, and helped to honour Canada's war veterans. The 226-member team, which included civilians of all ages, still-serving Canadian Forces members and veterans, raised $1.3 million. Ten Canadians ran in honour of "arthritis heroes", veterans they know who live with arthritis. In this photo, Nova Scotia members of the Joints in Motion team prepare to lay wreaths at the Menin Gate memorial in Ypres, Belgium.
