At Your Service
Over the years Veterans Affairs Canada has put in place more than 100 toll-free numbers for clients across the country. This can make it confusing to understand which number you should call.
To simplify your life and improve our service to you, our Department now has a network of people across the country fully trained to answer your call. No matter where you are calling from, you now only need to call one toll-free number in Canada to get information on your services and benefits.
1-866-522-2122 (English)
1-866-522-2022 (French)
When you call these two numbers, you will talk to a real person, not an answering machine. We will listen to your concerns and find out what you need.
The person who answers your call can help you with:
- general questions on programs, benefits and services related to health care, disability pensions or other economic support allowances;
- changes to your personal information; or
- the status of an application or cheque.
If possible they will help you on the spot or they will direct your request to the right area. This will make it much easier and quicker for you to get the quality service you deserve.
As we move through this change, the number of calls we are receiving remains high. We are carefully watching the situation and we thank you for your patience when contacting us.
Please see How to Reach Us on page 8 to learn how to contact us if you live outside Canada or you need information, benefits or services from Canada Remembers, the Bureau of Pensions Advocates or the Veterans Review and Appeal Board.
