Valentines for Vets

Valentines for VetsThe Valentines for Vets project has been going strong for eight consecutive years! This project, started by the late newspaper columnist Ann Landers, brings joy to veterans in care facilities across Canada. On February 14, 2004, veterans received Valentine greetings from thousands of Canadians, young and old. In this photo, Grade 5 students from Blythwood Public School give a hand-made valentine to First World War veteran Mr. Clare Laking who lives at Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre in Toronto.
