EXPIRY REVIEW DECISION

Expiry Review No.: RR-2002-002

Certain Prepared Baby Foods

On August 19, 2002, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (Tribunal) initiated an expiry review of its finding concerning certain prepared baby foods originating in or exported from the United-States of America.

As a result, the Commissioner of the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (Commissioner) commenced an investigation on August 20, 2002, to determine whether the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the goods.

The investigation has now been completed and today, pursuant to subsection 76.03(7) of SIMA, the Commissioner has determined that the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the goods.

A Statement of Reasons that contains additional details concerning the determination made by the Commissioner will be issued within fifteen days. The Statement of Reasons will be posted on the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency's Web site at:

www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/customs/business/sima/expiry-e.html

The Tribunal will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the continued or resumed dumping is likely to result in injury or retardation to the Canadian industry and will make an order by April 28, 2003.

Questions relating to the Commissioner's determination should be addressed to:
