Transition Services... the key to your future
VAC’s Transition Services Team is pro-active in making sure CF members and Veterans know about the full suite of new services and benefits offered to them through the NVC. Transition Services Teams are located on all CF Bases and Wings across Canada. That means front-line service for you that is consistent and fast.
VAC Area Counsellors continue to be the first point of contact on Bases and Wings. They are supported by a diverse VAC Client Service Team consisting of:
- a Client Service Team Manager;
- a District Medical Officer;
- a District Nursing Officer;
- a Pension Officer;
- a Pension Assistant; and
- Client Service Agents.
The availability of other team members is determined by the service needs at each CF location, therefore, the individuals may vary from site to site. The Client Service Team is also supported by experts in the mental health, rehabilitation, and medical and nursing fields at VAC’s regional and head offices. You can come back and meet with them at anytime in the future if necessary.
VAC Area Counsellors conduct a Transition Interview with you to start off the
transition process. The interview is the cornerstone of VAC’s new programs and
is the gateway that paves the way for you to access NVC services and programs.
