MSC HOSTS SECURITIES INDUSTRY SEMINAR IN BRANDON
Winnipeg - The Manitoba Securities Commission is hosting its first ever industry seminar, A Dialogue with the MSC, December 3, 2001 at the Royal Oak Inn in Brandon.
The conference will begin with an opening address by Don Murray, Chair of the Manitoba Securities Commission. Conference speakers will include professional staff from the Commission, as well as securities industry professionals.
"In today's environment, markets and products are constantly changing," says Murray. "The face of regulation is also changing and it is more important than ever for market participants to remain current in their knowledge of products, market trends and what is expected of them by the regulators. This conference is intended to be a sharing of information and education by the Securities Commission, with the industry, in an informal setting and will be of benefit to all who attend."
Topics addressed during the daylong conference will include Market Integrity Issues, Changes within the Regulatory Framework, Making the Markets More Efficient and Issues Facing Securities Markets and Regulators. The agenda and registration form are available on the MSC web site at www.msc.gov.mb.ca. The Commission is recommending that those interested in attending register early, as seating is limited.
