1. Does not include the volume of
visits for Children's Emergency at Health Sciences Centre.
2. The count of admitted patients awaiting a medical
bed includes all patients regardless of where they are
waiting. A small number may be waiting in the hallway
and, if so, will be included in that data as well.
3. There are also patients awaiting admission to
surgical and psychiatric beds--generally between zero and
six patients on a daily basis. These patients are not
included in the above data for 2000, which are for "medical
beds" only. However, they are included in the data for
1999.
4. The average for All Sites may differ
from the sum of the individual hospital level data broken down
above due to rounding.
5. Data collection was not standardized in 1998
and the early part of 1999; therefore, some of the differences
may be due to differences in reporting.
6. Pan Am Urgent Care "Total Visits"
was introduced in the "All Sites 2005 Total Visits"
in March 2005.
