The Crown Lands & Property Agency (CLPA) provides centralized Crown land information and services to the public and government. It provides service to the public in the areas of Crown land registry, leasing, permitting, licensing, and sales; and to government in the areas of appraisals, acquisitions, expropriations and other real estate services.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Several years of related office experience in a supervisory role. Experience interpreting legal plans, maps, certificate of titles and abstracts of land to determine ownership and location. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills are a must. Ability to work independently and as a team member, with minimal supervision. Experience in using Microsoft Office 2003, including Windows XP and the Internet. Knowledge of provincial acts and regulations governing land such as the Crown Lands Act, Sand & Gravel Act, Forestry Act, Wildlife Act, and Water Resources Administration Act.

DUTIES:
The position supervises the maintenance of the Crown Land Registry System. Provides service to other government departments, agencies, the legal profession and the public regarding the ownership of land, original grants and current dispositions of land. Interprets legal plans, maps, certificate of titles and abstracts of land to determine ownership and location. Makes and authorizes entries in the Crown Land Registry System to reflect land acquisition, registration of plans of subdivision, plans of survey, water control, roads, drains and dispositions on Crown Land. Provides explanation of land descriptions and types of encumbrances attached to the land and their effects on land use. Develops and maintains procedures and standards for Registry operations and entries. Liaises with other staff. Assists in interpreting the Crown Land Registry System Information and provides training.

An eligibility list will be established for similar positions for approximately one (1) year. Candidates with lesser qualifications maybe considered on an under fill basis.
