Aboriginal Public Administration Program

Develop Your Potential with APAP

The Aboriginal Public Administration Program (APAP) is your opportunity to prepare for a career in public service. This two-year term development program will provide enhanced opportunities for Aboriginal people to work in government.

Our goal: to increase the number of Aboriginal people working for government.

Through a series of on-going job placements and training, APAP interns will experience a wide variety of government work in areas such as program administration, research, and policy analysis. Interns will enhance their existing skills and acquire new ones while learning the business of government.

Who is eligible for APAP?

APAP is looking for leaders with various work experiences to train for tomorrow.

  • Participants in APAP must be Aboriginal - First Nations, Métis, Non-Status or Inuit.

  • Candidates will be sought from throughout Manitoba.

  • Successful candidates will have completed post secondary training at a university or community college level, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Candidates must possess good oral and written communications skills.

  • Participants must be willing to be located in Winnipeg for the duration of the program and be prepared to consider professional or management level positions upon completion of the program.
