Hearing Aid Program

Am I eligible?
Manitoba residents under the age of 18 who require a hearing aid,
as prescribed by an otolaryngologist or audiologist, are eligible.
What is covered?
Manitoba Health will reimburse:
- 80% of a fixed amount for an Analog device, up to a maximum of
$500 per ear
- 80% of a fixed amount for a Digital or Analog Programmable
device, up to a maximum of $1800
- 80% of a fixed amount for additional services, such as
dispensing fees, ear molds, and ear impressions.
How many claims may I make?
One device is allowed per ear every four years, unless there
is a medically diagnosed change in the patient’s condition.
Is there a deductible?
There is a $75.00 deductible on all claims.
Who supplies these services?
Check the Yellow Pages under Audiologists.
What is not covered?
- Repairs after the warranty expires
- Batteries
- Ear mold Replacements
- Additional ear molds
- Lost hearing aids
How do I process my claim?
Upon receiving your hearing device, your audiologist will complete
and submit a requisition claim form to Manitoba Health for approval of
payment.
