STE. ANNE'S HOSPITAL TO UNDERGO MAJOR RENOVATIONS

Over the next five years, the veterans' hospital in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec will undergo a $67.7 million renovation and construction of a new 130-bed annex to help modernize the facility and provide an environment better suited to residents' needs.

When the project is completed, Ste. Anne's Hospital will offer 460 beds in private rooms. The Edith Temple Pavilion also will be renovated and a new power plant will be built. Measures will be taken to ensure that veterans who live in the hospital are disrupted as little as possible during the renovations. Ste. Anne's Hospital is the last remaining federal hospital administered by VAC. Nationally, the Department also has committed more than $18 million in funding to construct, renovate or upgrade seven more facilities across the country that provide care to veterans. We'll tell you more about these initiatives in future issues of Salute!
