The OSH Engineering and Ergonomics
Branch provides support services to the Division, employers, workers, and
consultants as follows:
-
consultative engineering and ergonomic assistance to stakeholders, and WSH
division staff;
- provide assistance, and consultation, to Safety
and Health officers in the Inspection Services branch respecting
improvement orders, reports and case notes relating to Engineering and
Ergonomics;
- initiate and support prevention initiatives in
industry primarily through the Safe Work team and the Partnership and
Prevention Services branch;
- provide specialized training to Safety and Health
Officers, general Safety and Health Committee Members, and specific
industry groups, as required;
- develop documentation and training to support divisional and client
needs relating to the WSH regulations;
- provide assistance in accident investigation and review prosecution or
inquest files;
- assist in the development and implementation of prevention and
enforcement policies;
- pre-development review of new projects, installation and processes.
