Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses
in the NWT

Registered Nurses

Nurses work in an expanded role in the North's integrated primary health care system, working as community health nurses, public health nurses, home care nurses, and hospital nurses.  Work settings vary from remote community health centres to public health units and secondary and tertiary hospitals. Most nurses are employed by local and regional health and social services authorities.
