The Western office of Telefilm Canada opened in 1984 and is located
in Vancouver. It provides services to the feature film, television, new media
and music industries through various funds and programs. In addition to assisting
in the development, production and promotion of the above industries, the office
supports western festivals through the Canada Showcase Program and encourages
on-going skills development for writers producers and directors through the
Industrial and Professional Development Fund. The western region is a diverse
and dynamic territory with over four hundred clients spread across British Columbia,
Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories and the Yukon.
