The Government of Alberta is committed to becoming the best natural resource and environmental managers in the world.

To fulfill this vision, Alberta Energy, Alberta Environment and Alberta Sustainable Resource Development made a commitment to strengthen the ways they work together by creating a new way of doing business.

Sustainable Resource and Environmental Management is an approach – a way of thinking and acting – to working together and taking joint responsibility to achieve agreed-upon natural resource and environmental outcomes.

As a result of working with Albertans and with each other, government departments will, where appropriate, integrate their policies, align and share their information and streamline their regulatory processes.
