Saskatchewan
Highways and Transportation is responsible for the construction,
maintenance and operation of more than 26 000 km of provincial highways
throughout Saskatchewan. This network, vast as it is, represents
only a small component of the province's total road system.
The
rural municipal road system, managed by local governments throughout
the province covers nearly an additional 160 000 km. The people
of Saskatchewan have made a huge investment in this transportation
infrastructure. The total road and highway network is today valued
at more than $7 billion.
