Unconventional Gas and Oil Sands

Activities include:
  • Generating and updating regional resource assessments of unconventional gas deposits.
  • Producing reservoir-characterization and producibility studies of coalbed methane, shale and bitumen deposits.
  • Conducting regional framework studies on the distribution and nature of the sedimentary formations hosting unconventional gas deposits.
  • Supporting industry and government definition of Alberta’s resource potential and participate in public forums to educate and help inform public policy on Alberta’s unconventional energy future.
