Northern Resource Development

We provide expert advice on minerals in Alberta to the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board and other government agencies, as well as being a geoscience information advisor.

Activities include:

• Satellite image mapping (Radarsat)
• Diamond and kimberlite potential and metallic mineral studies and mapping
• Mineral aggregate and industrial minerals studies and mapping
• Petrography and geochemical studies over exposed and buried kimberlite pipes in the Buffalo Head Hills, Mountain Lake and Birch Mountain areas
• Studies to encourage economic development, especially in northern Alberta
• Thematic mineral resource-oriented studies under the Alberta Mineral Development Strategy ( 500 KB)
  • Potential for carbonate-hosted lead-zinc (MVT) deposits in northern Alberta and southern Northwest Territories
