For information on ordering a special move permit for overdimensional and/or overweight vehicles and loads please contact Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations at (902) 424-5851 or 1-800-898-7668 (in Nova Scotia only) or see Special Move Permit: Overdimension and/or Special Move Permit: Overweight Proposed Atlantic Overdimensional Special Move Permit Conditions Comments Requested The Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Public Works, jointly with the transportation departments in the other three Atlantic Provinces, has developed a proposal for the establishment of uniform special permit conditions for the movement of indivisible overdimensional vehicles and loads within Atlantic Canada and within Nova Scotia. The proposal also includes standards for escort vehicles and specifications for warning devices. A draft Escort Vehicle Drivers’ Handbook is also presented for comments. Included in the documentation is a report that summarizes the implications and required changes by each province.
